Homeschool Curriculum

NOTE: This is by no means an exhaustive list, but you knew that already, didn’t you?

Homeschool curricula come packed according to different approaches (or education styles) to learning at home. For example, the traditional approach utilises textbooks and workbooks (such as AOP). The literature approach uses what Charlotte Mason called “living books” or real literature instead of textbooks. The good thing about homeschooling is, you are NOT obliged to stick to one methodology or one publisher. Most homeschooling families eventually go for a mix-n-match approach employing all sorts of resources at different points of their learning journey!

Some education styles are necessarily tailored to different learning styles appealing to learners who are differently-abled (learning differences, learning disabilities). Homeschoolers need to find one that best fits their families.

Some publishers offer packages for home-based education (often including online or digital support) as well onsite campuses (such as Calvert). Although many of the distributors or institutions/publishers listed here promote the Christian worldview, several are not faith-based or are non-sectarian in perspective. For more specific curricula, do use this nifty search engine called Google.

Now and then we do get questions about curricula that are non-religious, non-sectarian, or for other religious communities. I’ll try to update as and when I can.
