Hi June,
Have you tried Google? There's got to be something there. Or perhaps you could call up a private college or email them if you want to be sure. Try Life College: enquiry@lifecollege.edu.my

Hi,

Malaysian Studies is one of 3 compulsory subjects that all college students are required to take by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency as stipulated under the Private Higher Educational Institution Act.

    * Bahasa Kebangsaan A
    * Malaysian Studies (Taught in English)
    * Pengajian Islam or Pendidikan Moral (Taught in English)

The Bahasa paper is for students who do not have a credit in SPM Bahasa Malaysia - which would more or less include homeschoolers who do not subscribe to the national curriculum.

Hope this helps.

Hello David,

I am Emma from Honsbridge, thanks for discussing the high school education issues that parents are facing in Malaysia. For admission to higher education or even for job application, SPM or the equivalent (that is IGCSE, GCSE or O Level) is the minimum qualification that a student or anyone should have. To be more specific, a student will also need at least 5 credits in their SPM or equivalent to study pre-university programmes. The reason behind a 5 credits requirement is that such students will have the important foundation that is needed to cope well in tertiary education.

As an academic trainer, i have learnt that Malaysians who study IGCSE or O Level privately often lack the resource to prepare well for their exams. Such students may also lack the study skills which is important to do well in their tertiary education. At Honsbridge, we aim to address these issues by providing a structure O Level tuition for private students to do well for their Cambridge O Level, the equivalent of SPM and IGCSE/GCSE qualification.

May i also take this opportunity to invite you, David and all to our End of Term Party for our students and parents on next Sat, 4 July 09 for more details pls visit: http://honsbridge.blogspot.com/2009/06/announcing-transformer-night-honsbridge.html

Warmest Regards,

Emma
